And The Children Shall Lead Them

February 21-22, 2015 | Chapel Hill, NC

Two Experiences of Ministering with Children

On February 21: An experience of intergenerational faith formation: All Church Lenten Retreat
"Behold the Earth: Invitation to a Lenten Practice of Wonder" with Carolyn Toben the founder of the Center for Education, Imagination, and the Natural World

On February 22: An experience of child led worship.
Experience worship led by United Church’s second graders

Rev. Susan Steinberg, Associate Pastor for Children’s Ministries, at United Church of Chapel Hill has been a strong voice for the inclusion of children in all church faith formation events and for finding ways to minister with children not just provide ministries for them. This event will give you the chance to hear from her about her pioneering efforts, experience two ways United Church faithfully forms children, and brainstorm ways to develop similar practices in your own congregations.

What Are Inspiring Models of Ministry?

Inspiring Model of Ministry events are designed to connect United Church of Christ churches doing innovative ministry practices with other United Church of Christ churches interested in developing these practices in their congregations. The learning format is experiential and reflective. Attendees participate in the ministry experience, reflect on what they have seen, heard and experienced with the ministry leaders from the host church and leave with an understanding of how to transfer the foundational aspects of these ministry practices to their home congregations.
